Global fundraising online concert series Swapner Daak: Unite in Tune, starts tonight at 8pm. This initiative of Bangladeshis in Australia is arranged by Australian non-profit organisation LISTEN FOR INC in partnership with Asiatic EXP and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bangladesh.
The fund collected during this event will be distributed through UNDP’s COVID-19 response programmes among the underprivileged and vulnerable populations of Bangladesh. As of 8 May 2020, UNDP Bangladesh has provided support to approximately 6.4 million people affected by COVID-19 in rural and urban including indigenous people.
This online event has been divided into four live shows with more than sixty performers joining in from four continents. It will be streamed in four different time zones.
The concerts are scheduled on, June 20 at 8 pm in Bangladesh, Europe show (8 pm BST) and North America show (8 pm EDT) will air on June 20. The Australia show is scheduled to air on June 21 at 7 pm AEST.
Artists and musicians including Asaduzzaman Noor, Kumar Bishwajit, Sara Zaker, Samina Chowdhury, Shafin Ahmed, Srikanta Acharya, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Lopamudra, Bappa Mazumder, Partha Barua, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Tahsan Khan, Jon Kabir, Shunno, Elita Karim, Hridoy Khan, Zohad Reza Chowdhury, Kona, Mila, Afsana Mimi, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Ankhi Alamgir will be participating in the event.
