Khalid, the renowned vocalist and frontman of 90s famous band Chime passed away on Monday evening due to a heart attack at the age of 56.

He was admitted to Comfort Hospital at the city’s Green Road where he breathed his last at around 7:15pm. Lyricist and composer Prince Mahmud and music producer and sound engineer Isha Khan Duray confirmed this to the media.

He is best known for his songs like “Shorolotar Protima”, “Himaloy”, “Kono Karonei”, among dozens of other hits during the 90’s and 2000’s.

He was born in Gopalganj and started his journey as a singer in 1981. He joined Chime in 1983.

Fans and fellow musicians are now rushing to the hospital to bid goodbyes to this legendary musician.
