5Ojantrik – Mukhosh
Mukhosh is the fifth delivered unique tune from Ojantrik’s forthcoming album, Mrittuhin Shohor. The tune was composed by Subrata, the vocalist in 2014, and first recorded in mid-2015. With the steady melodic development, everybody chose to re-record the tune in 2018. Afterward, the music video was shot in December 2019 however again the band battled with the after creation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At last, after just about 6 years, the tune has come to life. The track is a heavy metal tune, with lyrics depicting the crimes and the criminals of the everyday life and paralyzing us to the core. This song is an anti-crime anthem and has a powerhouse within itself. Don’t miss the guitar solo, it’s a reaper!
4Cyanide – Binirmaner Pothe
Cyanide has been one of the prolific bands over a couple of months, releasing a track every one or two months. Now when it comes to progressive rock music in Bangladesh, this band is one of the bests in the business. This track heavily driven by powerful riffs and energetic drumming has a soul in it. With abstract lyrics reflecting on the deconstruction of our institutions and long-held beliefs to reconstruct once again, this song is no different than the others, powerful riff and drumming driven structured, expressing on their own. One issue with the song is vocal, with his classical influenced voice mismatching with the riff-based music, making it somewhere odd to the ears.
3Two Chord Theorem – Raag
Two Chord Theorem is a single-handed project by Abul Nashar Azad. Raag is a song of this project, recorded and produced at a home studio in Dhaka. The song with its powerful vocals and sounds and hard realistic lyrics catches one’s attention. It deserves multiple listens.

2Rafa feat. Black Zang – Ekhanei Shob Shesh Na
This is the first time former Aurthohin drummer and vocal and main man of the band AvoidRafa is working with a hip-hop rap musician Black Zang. With the two top musicians from two scenes of Bangladeshi music, Rock and Hip-hop, they came up with a sound different from most other rap songs. With Black Zang rapping the words in his style, the delivery is fluent and Rafa does what he does best, scream out the words with power. This is one first of its kind, don’t miss to check it out.
1Suicidal Pumpkin – Plutostory
Plutostory is the first single from the second album which the band Suicidal Pumpkin has been cooking for a while. With the rising number of bands working with English songs, to gain an international audience, few bands are doing pretty well and Suicidal Pumpkin is no exception. The Punk band from Dhaka has been working with the 90s American punk sounds in their first album Confession. But in this track, they have been experimenting with their sounds and shifting towards a more Indie Pop sound. With both catchy lyrics and tune, this track claims the top spot for this month’s pick.
